I think in my personal use, I began using “Peace (but not before Justice)” in emails because I used to sign off “Peace” sometimes. But that didn’t sit right, so I started adding “But not before Justice.” And I didn’t think until recently “Where did I get that, anyway?” It was unconscious, but I decided it must have been from hearing/reading “No Peace, No Justice,” which comes from the African American struggle in the Civil Rights era, I don’t remember who is famous for saying it. Also a lot of Reggae I heard growing up echoed this sentiment…

hey, my friend, there’s not much to say on it, eh? life can be like that. this is the place where i get it out, tho. :) i appreciate your words. things are a lot better now, as she is out of her mother’s house and that makes me happy. i know sooner or later i will be with her again. she loves me and knows what i’m about, and that’s a huge victory to me, after all the years she had to be with people who hate me.

Just read your two last entries, and I don’t know what to say… Your daughter sounds tough, and real, and I wish for strength for the both of you.

As for that picture; that face will indeed launch a thousand ships. And by the look of it, not only that, but she will be the one commanding them.
